AIRPORT DIRECTIONS How to get to Oak Ridge from the McGhee Tyson/Knoxville Airport (40-45 minute drive) When leaving the airport, take the Knoxville Exit which will put you on Alcoa Highway/ US 129 North. Stay on US 129 North for a few miles (you will pass several fast food restaurants on your right and several car dealers on both sides of the road). After passing the Chevrolet dealership on your right take the Interstate 140 (I-140) exit (sign will say Oak Ridge). After several miles I-140 (some signs refer to this road as Highway 162 or Pellissippi Parkway) will cross over Interstate 40 (I-40), and you will make a sharp right. You will turn left at the next red light (there is a sign there for Oak Ridge). The road signs will now refer to this road as Highway 162 (Pellissippi Parkway). As you follow Highway 162/Pellissippi Parkway you will merge with Highway 62 West. When Highway 62 splits, follow Highway 62 West to Oak Ridge. After you cross the Clinch River, the road will bear left. Before the next red light, you will turn/exit right staying on Highway 62 West (follow the signs to Oak Ridge). Highway 62 becomes Illinois Avenue after you enter Oak Ridge; you will easily be able to locate your hotel on Illinois Avenue. The Ramada Inn, Hampton Inn, and Days Inn will be on your left; the Comfort Inn and the Garden Plaza will be on your right. How to get from Oak Ridge to McGhee Tyson/Knoxville Airport Take Illinois Avenue until it ends at Highway 62; turn left at the traffic light. Stay on Highway 62 East, which will merge with Highway 162/Pellissippi Parkway (follow the sign for Knoxville), until you come to Mabry Hood Road West. Turn right at the traffic light (the signs also indicate you should turn right to go to I-40 West; however, do not get on I-40 West). Immediately bear left and cross the bridge over I-40 on to I-140. Follow this road for several miles to the Alcoa exit, Highway 129 South. Follow Highway 129 South until you come to the McGhee Tyson/Knoxville Airport on your right. DRIVING DIRECTIONS If coming into Tennessee on I-40 West Stay on I-40 West through the downtown area of Knoxville and take the Oak Ridge/Pellissippi Parkways exit (first exit after the Cedar Bluff exit). This will place you on Highway 162/Pellissippi Parkway. As you follow Highway 162/Pellissippi Parkway you will merge with Highway 62 West. When Highway 62 splits, follow Highway 62 West to Oak Ridge. After you cross the Clinch River, the road will bear left. Before the next red light, you will turn/exit right staying on Highway 62 West (follow signs to Oak Ridge). Highway 62 becomes Illinois Avenue after you enter Oak Ridge; you will easily be able to locate your hotel on Illinois Avenue. The Ramada Inn, Hampton Inn, and Days Inn will be on your left; the Comfort Inn and the Garden Plaza will be on your right. If coming into Tennessee on I-75 North or I-40 East I-75 and I-40 will merge right before getting to Knoxville. Take the Maryville/Alcoa/Oak Ridge exit. The first ramp is for Maryville and Alcoa; the second ramp is for Oak Ridge. Take the Oak Ridge ramp, of course. This will place you on I-140/Pellissippi Parkway/Hwy 162. At the first red light, turn left staying on Pellissippi Parkway/Highway 162, following the signs to Oak Ridge. As you follow Pellissippi Parkway/Highway 162, you will merge with Highway 62 West. When Highway 62 splits, follow Highway 62 West to Oak Ridge. After you cross the Clinch River, the road will bear left. Before the next red light, you will turn/exit right staying on Highway 62 West (follow signs to Oak Ridge). Highway 62 becomes Illinois Avenue after you enter Oak Ridge; you will easily be able to locate your hotel on Illinois Avenue.
